The Meatland Food Group is an integrated association of companies providing a full range of commercial services in the market of meat products – from slaughtering to delivery of products to end users. Meatland buys meat raw material from domestic manufacturers and abroad, provides cutting, processing, storage and transportation, and supplies domestic manufacturers of meat products with processed raw materials, as well as makes its own semi-finished meat products, and delivers meat and semi-finished products to various retailers, first and foremost, to large retail chains.

The headquarters of the Group is located in St. Petersburg, which allows the company to quickly access the services of Russia’s largest sea trading port, which is crucial in working with foreign suppliers. The Group also includes a full-function company in Moscow, the Joint-Stock Company Meatland Logistics and Distribution, which specializes in deliveries to the Central Region of Russia.

Meatland Group is one of the largest operators on the meat market in Russian Federation. The consolidated turnover of the company in 2008 was RUR 5.5 billion (the decline in monetary turnover compared to 2007 was caused by sales falling in October – December 2008 due to common economic situation in the country).

Business of the company is structurally divided into three basic directions:

  • Manufacture of chilled and frozen meat;
  • Commerce (purchase and distribution of meat in retail chains and to public catering establishments);
  • Service (provision of logistical services to players on the meat market).

The main production facility is located in Vsevolozhsk, Leningrad Region, and is the largest of its kind in the Northwestern District of the country, built in 2003. The logistical potential of the Group is its unique distribution centre in St. Petersburg.

As of today, Meatland is the only group of companies on the meat market with its own specialized distribution centre with the capacity of 9,000 tons, complete with its own refrigerated truck fleet. Meatland Distribution Center is equipped with a state-of-the-art information control system for the company’s warehouses, which allows maximum automation of operational processes.
